We have experienced a lot of bugs and issues with the site, including: 1) Items added to shopping cart do not show up at checkout (but only for some customers, and we are not able to replicate this problem). 2) Slow response and page load. At present, our site is down because it was consuming so many resources on our dedicated server that it was causing the server to repeatedly crash. We are looking for someone to help us get the existing cart operational again, as soon as possible, and to identify what is causing the missing items in the shopping cart. Once the site is up again and relatively stable, we would like to discuss the direction we will take this web site going forward. Having had so many problems with Magento, we are exploring other options. We do not like OScommerce/Zencart. We do like much about Opencart, but will need to work with someone who can customize it for us if we do that. We will need to create a theme that matches our existing theme as much as possible, as well as to add some features that Opencart does not have an extension for. We have NOT decided that is the direction we will go with this, so we would like to be able to discuss the possibilities with you. We would prefer someone who is familiar with server administration as well, since so often there seems to be a conflict where server people blame the software and software people blame the server. :) If we can find the right person, we anticipate additional projects with this and other web sites.
